Because of where we’re positioned with the TVA and availability of power through the Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation, Murphy NC is a prime location for solar electricity farms to help power our area. With that said, a new facility is being built on Burger Road in the Ranger Community of Murphy, which is on the western side of Cherokee County.

This new facility is scheduled to be a 990 kilowatt system, which is enough to power 140 homes.  Generating no pollution, it’s a great way to help make Murphy NC Green!
