Brasstown Bald in Blairsville GA

Brasstown Bald TowerA short drive away is Brasstown Bald in Blairsville GA. It is managed by the US Forest Service and is the highest point in the state of Georgia. At 4,784 feet in elevation, it is home to some incredible mountain views in every direction. You can see four states from it’s peak: Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Incredibly enough, Cherokee County NC has two points on the county corners that reach 5,040 feet in elevation (the highest points in the county), yet none are easily accessible. That makes Brasstown Bald that much more of a treat because it can easily be reached by car on a paved road with a transport van taking you to the summit. There are many more miles of trails you can walk to really enjoy all that nature has to offer.
